Top 5 Greek islands to explore
Top 5 Greek islands to explore

Did you know that there are over 150 inhabited Greek islands? But only a few of them are ever really ‘on the map’ so to speak. When choosing which islands to visit it can certainly be tough. So, if you are planning on a trip to Greece here are five of the best islands to visit.

1. Mykonos

If you love to party then you will love Mykonos. Packed full of beach bars, clubs and restaurants it is also blessed with perennial sunlight which sets the city aglow. Greek mythology states that the sun was sent by the Greek god Apollo. It is a popular choice with the younger crowd, so if you are into the more sedate of holidays then it may be one to avoid.

2. Corfu

If you are an avid reader then the Greek island of Corfu is the perfect spot for you. Located just off … Read More

The United States is a big country, but you might be surprised at just how far you can travel on one tank of fuel. Have a look at the infographic below from Alamo which illustrates just how many things you can see and do within relatively short drives.

LAGUNA LANG CO SETS NEW STANDARD IN GOLF RESORTS
LAGUNA LANG CO SETS NEW STANDARD IN GOLF RESORTS

Banyan Tree Resorts this week is opening Laguna Lang Co, an integrated five-star golf resort on Vietnam’s Central Coast.

(TRAVPR.COM) THAILAND – October 30th, 2012 – Coastal golf resorts, with every amenity on site – golf, hotel, spa, dining, water activities and other indulgences – aren’t as common in Asia as you might think.

At the high end, they’re rare. So much so that you can easily count the number of fully integrated five-star seaside golf resorts in China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines on one hand. This changes when Laguna Lang Cô, a world-class development by Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts, opens this week on Vietnam’s Central Coast.

The hotel/championship golf course complex puts a whole new meaning on the term “golf resort” in Vietnam, and indeed Asia. For few, if any, other existing facilities – on the coast or inland – match what it offers. For a … Read More

EAGLE HOLE SOARS FOR KUNMING GOLF TOURISM
EAGLE HOLE SOARS FOR KUNMING GOLF TOURISM

First, South Africa had the extreme hole at the Legend Golf & Safari Resort in Limpopo province – a 400-metre almost vertical downhill vertigo-inducing par-3 accessible only by helicopter.

Now, China has the eagle hole at Sky Oasis Golf Resort near Kunming – a 150-metre visually stunning experience that is about to help put Yunnan province on the international golf map. The eagle hole opened on October 12 for members of Sky Oasis, a 36-hole complex, 100 kilometres north of Kunming.

Like South Africa’s extreme par-3, China’s eagle hole is not part of the main course. Designed by US golf architect Cynthia Dye, a niece of design legend Pete Dye, the eagle hole was conceived during a site survey for a possible fourth course at the resort.

The group came across a cliff overlooking an alpine meadow that, on the contour map, resembled an eagle. As Cynthia Dye inspected the … Read More

The Highlights of Mexico
The Highlights of Mexico

This in itself is an extremely difficult task, to narrow down all that this unbelievable country has to offer into a few “highlights”. Mexico provides it all; great history, beautiful scenery, fascinating people, nature, cuisine, the phrase “something for everyone” is rarely so fitting. Those who like an adventure will not be left disappointed, those looking for a relaxing, exotic break have come to the right place and even the budget traveller will have an abundance of options in Mexico. It is hard to fault this country on a whole as a tourist destination and here are some of my own highlights or must see/do’s:

  • Beaches – In Mexico it is difficult not to come across a perfect white sandy beach and with over 450 beaches along its coastline it’s easy to say why. In the majority of cases the word perfect is certainly not an overstatement. Puerto Vallarta resorts

Japan’s Top 7 Visitor Attractions
Japan’s Top 7 Visitor Attractions

Japan is a Wonderful Destination:

The characters that make up Japan’s name mean “sun-origin”, which is why it is sometimes referred to as the “Land of the Rising Sun”. A journey to this land will never fail to fascinate and travelers can look forward to a trip of endless discovery, packed with gourmet experiences, indulgent spa treatments, modern art, pop culture, and heritage trails leading to towering castles and mist-shrouded mountains.

Japan is a land of astonishing contrasts. From antiquated temples and kimono-clad geisha girls hurrying between traditional tea houses in Kyoto, to lightning-quick bullet trains carrying sharp-suited businessmen between the high-tech cities of Tokyo and Osaka, Japan is a country where the past meets the future.

One misplaced view is that Japan’s position as the world’s third richest nation makes it an expensive holiday destination. In reality, it can be cheaper to travel in Japan than in most parts … Read More
